Minecraft edu is a new education method that will bring Minecraft to schools in multiple countries like Finland, USA and China. It also has a custom mod that is really helpful for classroom teachers and homeschool teachers to use. Like my mom! The mod makes it so the teacher (or person that has the mod) can teleport students to them (the teacher). From there, the teacher can place blocks that symbolize where the student can or cannot build. The teacher can create assignments and give them tools like diamond armor, iron pickaxes and golden swords. She/he can set the spawn point and allow creative mode and flying. I use math in minecraft already with out realizing it because I have to use a lot of fractions. For example, when I have to figure out how much space is needed to build a 9 by 9 farm and a 10 by 8 house or a 6 by 4 super small pirate ship. Say you want to make a 5 by 5 house. How many blocks would you need to build half of it or the whole thing? You figure that out first on paper or in your head, using your math facts, and then you can easily check your math by building it in the game.

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012The Pig Rode a Horse In My Dream
Wednesday, January 25th, 2012Last night I had a dream I was at Bear Creek Stables and I saw a pig riding a horse! It was the most hilarious thing I had ever seen! The pig was screaming “TROLOLOLOLOLOLOL!” and the horse was singing “Ladidadidadida!” and they were trotting straight towards me. I thought they might stop as they came closer, but it appeared they wanted to run me over! I quickly climbed into the back of my truck (that I had bought in the middle of nowhere) and I quickly drove over a cliff! THEN I LANDED IN QUICK SAND!!! Then I remembered I had a built-in propeller in the bottom of my truck and I used it to burst out of the sand! But then there were a bunch of trees in my way and the pig and horse were catching up!   So I used the propeller to cut down a pathway among the trees that were in my way and I was about to escape when I landed in a PIT OF FIERY LAVA! I HAD TO POUR WATER ONTO THE LAVA TO MAKE A PATHWAY OUT OF OBSIDIAN! I had finally made a pathway through the lava on my way to the other side and that’s when I woke up.
Real Life Minecon Cape!
Tuesday, January 24th, 2012Last November in Las Vegas, Minecraft held a convention and we were lucky enough to go. It was called Minecon. Everybody who went to this convention got an in-game red creeper face Minecon cape! They were a huge hit. After the convention, people who hadn’t gone kept asking me whether I could get them a cape. Of course, I can’t them in-game Minecon capes…
So Today I will be making a real life Minecon cape! It will be the red creeper face one! How I will make it: first I will cut out a piece of red felt. Then I will cut out darker red pieces of felt and sew them on to fashion a creeper face. After that, I will sew on strings of fabric to tie it around my neck so I can wear the cape. Done. I might use the sewing machine because it takes less time. If you leave a comment here, let me know whether you’d like one, too. It will cost you $10, which will include shipping. I’ll make you a cape and mail it to you! You can even ask me if you want to have a different design cape or a multicolor Minecon cape!
